The Challenge

Cartoon Network was on a mission to promote Sony’s upcoming tent pole film, Men in Black: International. Our assignment? To craft a galactically fun spot featuring 11 sharply dressed kids, two A-list superstars and one tiny, animated alien.

The Approach

It was a challenge but our team was up to the task. Our D6 agents—along with Director Joe Chapra—assembled quickly to produce a spot against an aggressive timeline. To ensure we covered all our bases, we shot two scripts and two different set-ups.

Things were running according to plan—until we hit the climax of this plot: with T minus 24 hours until launch day, our crew finally received Pawny’s official animations. But as Pawny himself says, “Teamwork makes the dream work.” We weren’t going to let a little last-minute drama stop our agents from saving the day.

The folks at Sony said: Mission accomplished. They were so impressed, they ran the piece during paid ad time—a rare move for co-promotions. They also included the spot on VOD and requested a custom YouTube version featuring Chris and Tessa, directed specifically to Cartoon Network Fans.
